Introduction: In the protocol of mismatch negativity (MMN) the frequent and target auditory stimuli are presented to the patient while his attention is excluded. These evoked potentials (EP) are considered to correlate with automatic working memory and a primitive intelligence on an unconscious level. The aim of the study was to elucidate whether subthalamicus nucleus (STN) is involved in the processing of audio signals.
